Youth World Championships 2010 awarded to Sochi / Russia

Dear minigolf friends,

The WMF Executive Committee has awarded the Youth World Championships 2010 to the Russian Golf Association. The tournament is to be held in Sochi in August 2010 and will be played on the systems Minigolf Open Standard (concrete lanes) and Miniaturegolf.

Pasi Aho, WMF Youth Officer, reported his very positive impression of the course and facilities to the WMF Youth Committee and the WMF Technical Committee following his recent visit to Sochi. This report has helped form the basis for the recommendation of Sochi to the WMF Board.

The WMF feels that the Youth World Championships is one of the most important championships taking place over the next few years and Sochi, Russia is the perfect venue for the competition. The Russian Golf Association is welcomed as a new organiser of a large scale WMF Minigolf Championship.
